Studio Upgrade

Finally biting the bullet; after resisting the use of a PC or Apple computer to make recordings, I have had to concede they are far better value and probably just as reliable as my trusty Akai DPS16. (A bit boring looking at the wee screen on it too) To pay for this new dalliance, I'm selling off some stuff; the DPS16, my Emu XL7 groovebox and the Yamaha RM1X remixer. Seem to have sold the latter two items already. So a nice iMac and firewire interface perhaps. But there appears to be a problem with the "Agere" firewire chip Apple have started installing in the new iMac - lots of problems getting the mac to work properly with firewire interfaces. (So much for the Apple just works bull) Will have to hold fire (heh heh) and see how this works out. Not a peep so far from Jobs Boys...
